Just 7500 visas under FSW category from India for 2011

15/03/2011 19:30

The document released under the Access to Information Act shows a change in the visa qoutas for different categories of immigration. There are only 7500 visas under Fedreal Skillled Workers category which includes principal applicants and dependents. With a huge backlog at CHC-New Delhi it seems like a tough situation for both the FSW applicants and CHC as this number of 7500 will have to accomodate the three streams of FSW category ie Pre2008 , post2008 & pre june2010 and post june2010 applicants.

The decrease in the FSW visas is due to the increased number of Provincial Nominees. This year nearly 3000 visas wil go to PNP.

The only thing which can be concluded is that with decreasing visas, the processing times of backlog cases are going to increase.
